Welcome Message from the Principal

School Travel Plan

South Perth Primary has been working with the City of South Perth and the Department of Planning and Infrastructure to promote more walking, riding and public transport to and from school. This is being promoted in order to reduce traffic and parking pressures, improve traffic safety, improve personal fitness and to help the environment. The Awesome Walksome School Travel Plan(P.D.F or Portable Document Format 1219KB) has been produced for parent perusal and comment.

School Grounds Concept Plan (MAP) Feedback

Please address any feedback on this concept plan for the school grounds (P.D.F or Portable Document Format 303KB) to the Principal.

Walking School Bus

For details regarding the Walking School Bus days and routes please contact the front office.

Change of Details

Please contact the school if your child's address, phone number/s or emergency contact details have been altered. This is particularly important if you need to be contacted if your child is sick or injured.

Signing Students In and Out

It is extremely important that any student who needs to leave school during the school day is signed out through the front office. Parents are not to collect students from class/the playground unless they have authorisation from the office. Teachers will not let students leave their classroom unless they receive this written notification (green slip). We take our responsibility very seriously and we require your cooperation, thank you.

Parking Safety

Please remember that the students, parents and staff at our school require that you park and drive carefully around our school at all times. Please remember the following:

Assemblies

School assemblies are run every second Friday of the term. Each class is timetabled to perform an item and present a report throughout the year. The bell is rung at 8:40 on assembly days and all year 1-7 students move to the hall ready for an 8:50am start. Parents and friends are always very welcome.

Voluntary Contributions

Thank you to all families who have forwarded their contributions to our school. These voluntary contributions are a vital source of revenue for the school and P&C association. A copy of the Schedule of Contributions and Charges is available on this web site. (Portable Document Format 67KB)

Communication

Effective communication is the key to any healthy organisation/family and our school newsletter is a vital component of our communication strategy. A newsletter will go out with the oldest student in the family every second Thursday. Please ask your child for the newsletter and keep it handy. At the beginning of the term we also send out a term planner for your convenience. We also have a complaints management policy (Portable Document Format 42KB) if you require assistance in this area. If you have any queries or concerns in this area then please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Book Club

At the start of every term, Scholastic Book Club brochures are sent home with each student. Items purchased earn reward points for the school, and these are used to obtain books and resources for our library.

Order forms and payment are usually collected between 8:30 and 8:45am in the school library on Tuesday and Thursday of week three each term. The dates are published in the school newsletter.
